My youngest son plays boys varsity soccer for his high school. He sometimes has ot travel to away games. This is understandable. These schedules are made months in advance and EVERYONE knows who has the crappy weather. Additionally, this is a winter OUTDOOR sport and weather is often a variable in whether the game is played or cancelled and rescheduled.
Today makes the second time they have had to reschedule a game. Bad weather. They (the sports scheduler at the school) thought the weather would be bad yesterday. Yes, the wind was bad and it was very cold, but no snow.
The weather forecast for today has a 50% chance of snow, high winds, and a wind chill factor which would leave the temp at 21 degrees. The phone ring, I see that it is the school calling and that it is my son telling his game is cancelled. It is indeed my son, but he is calling to let me know that his game had been moved up two hours because of weather. I call the sports scheduler at the school and tell him my reservations, asking him if he had checked the most recent weather report. Now he turns in to "Wimp Man" with this answer. "Well, the coach up there demanded that we play today since it was such an important game." I asked if the welfare of the players was more important than the game. Studly "Wimp Man" once again inspires with his superb, sizzling thought process. "Well, they have to leave and play the game." I told him I would sue him personally if anything happened to any of the players.
I'm in the shower, getting ready to go and see this game. I check messages and I hear "Wimp Boy's" message. "The bus driver was instructed that if the weather got really bad, he was to turn around." I am shivering with anticipation of his next missive.
I'm in the van driving when I get to 138. It is sleeting. I stop to call "Husband Man" and it starts snowing. "Husband Man" tells me to go home. I wasn't down the road 10 minutes when my son calls me to tell me that they got to their destination and the game is cancelled.
"Wimp Man" and boss (principal) will be receiving a piece of my mind on Tuesday. I know, I know. I can't spare much, but the fact that men are wimps must be addressed.
I hope he calls back :)

Have people not learned they should not mess with you???
They can mess with me, just not children.
Anyhoo, I'm sure he and I will be the best of friends!! Either that, or he'll be dancing a jig the moment Alex goes across the stage and gets his diploma (Lord willing!).
